FRIEND OF THE COURT

The role of the Friend of the Court’s (FOC) office is to enforce court orders for child support, medical support, custody, parenting time, and spousal support (alimony). The Family Division of the court conducts the hearings for these cases. The Finance Services unit provides accounting and auditing service support for FOC.

• A Friend of the Court Handbook is provided to each party seeking services from the FOC. This is also available for download in two formats at the bottom of this page.
• The FOC offers an Orientation every other month on the 2nd Monday starting at 3 p.m. Please call or email FOC@kalcounty.com to verify the next date this will be offered.

The Kalamazoo FOC handles about 18,000 active cases. The FOC staff is responsible for collecting over $39 million dollars in child support each year.
